My book “A Journey to the Stars” in English and Japanese published by Omniscriptum

I have been engaged in the development design of the majority of Japanese scientific satellites and practical satellites at the NEC Space Development Division. I have also been involved in the development of the JEM module of NASA International Space Station.

Meanwhile, I have conducted a theoretical study of an advanced space propulsion system with a faster speed than the current chemical rocket, and has presented it to a lecture at international conference or overseas journal magazine as a personal hobby. Not only propulsion theory but also a new navigation theory becomes indispensable for the stellar system exploration or galaxy exploration as which the cruising range of a light-year unit is required. The practical star travel combines both propulsion theory and navigation theory.

I received an e-mail from Ghenadie Braghis, an acquisition editor of LAMBERT Academic Publishing, on June 3, 2014. The editor proposed to publish my scientific work on space propulsion into a form of book. I organized my manuscript and it was relatively easy to create book, because I could work on my own content, design the cover page and proofread the manuscript. My book “A Journey to the Stars” was completed and published in September, 2014. This book shows the theoretical possibility of realistic interstellar travel combined with propulsion theory and navigation theory.

My second book with OmnisSriptum publishing house was published when I received an e-mail from an editor Ikuko Nishikawa on July 21, 2018. As Omniscriptum publishing house started publishing in Japanese, she asked me if I were interested to publish my scientific work for Japanese speaking audience. I immediately agreed. Thus in cooperation with an editor Cristina Muchi (GlobeEdit), who helped me a lot in my way to a published book, I worked on my second book with Omniscriptum.

Many might ask, why did I decide to first publish in English, instead of publishing my work in Japanese. In Japanese journals even with peer-reviewed referees, too innovative papers are generally rejected, so I write in English from the beginning for peer-reviewed international journals and international conference presentations. European, American journals and academic societies do not refuse papers of innovative ideas compared with Japan, but rather emphasize papers with such contents.

Procedure of publication with GlobeEdit imprint was similar as for LAMBERT Academic Publishing. To publish my book in Japanese, I translated my book “A Journey to the Stars” from English to Japanese, edited the manuscript, selected the cover image and proofreaded the text. From my experience, the book creation is relatively easy, thus the book “星系への旅 A Journey to the Stars” was published on January 2, 2019.

Now both books are available on morebooks.de and soon on amazon.co.jp as well:

Kind regards

Our Author Marcos Rogério Menezes da Costa:

"It is a great honor and a fantastic experience to have received the invitation from the OmniScriptum Publishing Group through the New Academic Editions trade mark for this publication of great importance in the study of the Varicella-zoster Virus in Brazil.
The accompaniment and dedication in the editing of the work, suggestions, elaboration of the cover and colors served as stimulus for the conclusion of this book.
This incentive is essential for researchers to publish studies of great interest to professionals and students in their respective areas."
