The technical requirements are straightforward:

â˘â â Maximum: 692 pages
â˘â â Manuscript longer than 692 pages? It gets published as two volumes.
Why do these limits exist?
It comes down to the physical realities of printing. A book with too few pages is difficult to produce, the spine doesnât hold properly, and the result simply doesnât feel like a book. A manuscript thatâs too long creates challenges during binding and press runs. The 42â692 page range is where everything works reliably and the quality stays consistent.
Does page count affect your bookâs price?
